Friday with Touches of Texture

Today I am sharing a card made using Touches of Texture Stamp Set.

This is a beautiful stamp set and one I go to often and so pleased it is carrying over in the new catalogue.

Using my favourite card size of A4 cut in half and scored at 5.5 adding a layer to which I stamp and leaving a small border.

Birthday Card for another Special Friend

Having made a Special Friends Birthday Card earlier this week, I found out by chance that it was another Special Friends Birthday on Easter Sunday. She kept it quite but I didn't want it to pass without making a card for her.

It appears that I am better in making 'hurried' cards rather than having time to think 'what to do'

This is what I came up and used a few older stamps which retired a while ago.

I had already prepared some card bases using old retired colours, this one being Crisp Cantaloupe.
I still love the colours from the 2014-2015 Collection so they will get used for family and friends cards.

The details of what I used you can see below as Thumb Nails.

I hope my Friend likes my idea.

Birthday Blooms

Good afternoon everyone. I hope you have sunshine this Easter Saturday.

Today, I set myself a challenge to use Birthday Blooms Stamp Set along with Watercolouring.

Must admit I am pretty pleased with how it came together.

I have the new Water Colour Pencils from Stampin' Up! and this stamp has sat looking at me for quite a while.
So I took the plunge and the result you can see below

The products used are listed below with the exception of my Spectrum Noir Pencils.

I am pleased with it and hope you like my interpretation of this beautiful stamp set.

Sunday Play Time

Today I have been playing with two new Stampin' Up! Stamp Sets and the new Watercolour Pencils.

I decided to use some retired colours but still colours I really like.

Namely Calypso Coral and Pistachio Pudding.

The first card shown is Calypso Coral Card Stock along with the latest Avant Garden Stamp which you got during Sale-a-Bration.
Sadly they were only available until the end of March.

My second card using Pistachio Pudding Card stock and a Stamp called Swan Lake. This is current until the 31st May 2017.

I used my Clear Wink of Stella Brush to colour the Swan,
It gives a lovely finish and makes it 'Pop'

I hope you like my choice of stamps and look forward to reading your comments.

Card Swap Challenge

Good morning everyone and such a beautiful day, well it is here in Leicestershire.

Today I am sharing a card I made for a Facebook Card Swap Challenge I belong to.

Each month we are given a challenge chosen by our host and we have a complete month to make and send it to our Swap Partner.

This month the challenge was to make a 'Shaker Card' and it had to include a 'Mermaid'

This is my interpretation and I know that my Swap Partner Julia has received it.

It is a Shaker Card and had to check out YouTube to see what was involved.  I know now that I should have used thicker Mountain Foam Tape, a lesson I will remember.

I chose to use an image from a CD I had in my stash along with a couple of Stamps.

My Shaker elements consisted of gold and silver circles and a lot of punched circles made from Acetate which I had coloured using Alcohol Inks.

I don't think they show up much in the first photo but they do 'Shake' a little.

I added a few Die Cut leaves to the front of the card and the 3rd photo shows a Die Cut Mermaid
(I have a friend to thank for this)

I hope you like what you see and I will now show you the lovely card I received from my Swap Partner - Val

Vale has made this to look like a Frame and I love it.

Looking forward to reading your comments.
