Card Swap Challenge

Happy Friday to you all, where has this week gone?

I belong to a Card Swap Challenge on Facebook and the challenge set for October was to create a card using 3 different shades of Blue, plus your card had to be either Round or Rectangular.

I am always chasing my tail when signing up for the challenge even though we are given a month to make it and post out to your swap partner.

Well, on Wednesday I finally sat down to make my card along with a new resolution to use my new stamps before putting them away.

This is my design

This is the front of the card and I used the following products, all from Stampin' Up!

Card base is Night of Navy, with a layer of Marina Mist which I had run through my Big Shot using the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder.
For my next layer I chose Soft Sky card stock before adding another layer of Whisper White to which I had stamped.
The stamp set used is Paisley and Posies and you can also get matching Framelits.
A random pattern has been created using Night of Navy, Marina Mist and Soft Sky Inks.
I decided to do a couple of 3D designs to give the card texture and added Metal Shapes in toning colours for added interest.

This is the inside of my card and I used the Love and Affection Stamp Set for my sentiment.

I  hope my swap partner will have received it now.

If you wish to purchase any of the products used, you can do so by ordering via me.

Thanks for looking.

Telford On Stage

I spent a lovely weekend with my team at the On Stage Event held in Telford this weekend.

Meeting lots of other fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators was a perfect way to spend the weekend.

Everyone had such good fun 'Swapping' and chatting, unfortunately for me I didn't get to say hello to two of my lovely 'Cyber Friends. Shell Bower and Bibiana Cameron. I was so looking to having a good chat, however, as always, these events don't allow much time.

Over 400 Stampin' Up! Demonstrators attended and there were lots of recognition for them.

Below are pictures showing the swaps I received, they are all fantastic and more will follow once I have taken more photos of the cards.

I haven't opened them all yet but looks like there will be a lot a choccie goodies in them.

I promised you last week I would share my swaps, so here are a small selection.

I so love my job as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and you can become one too.
Just send me an email for information on joining my team.

I have been neglecting my Blog, however with a 'nudge' from a fellow crafter and friend I hope to remedy my lack of posts.

Today I am sharing a card I made for a Card Swap Group I belong to on Facebook.

We were challenged to make an 'Autumn Beauty' Card and given what we should use in creating it.

The remit was to create a card of your choice but it must contain the following:

Gorgeous shades of oranges, golds, browns, greens, reds and purple.
(MUST include these colours not just one or two)!
The card style is your choice, but you MUST have these three items in your design.

This is my take on the challenge below

I chose to make my own base card using 'Always Artichoke' Card Stock from Stampin' Up!

To tie in with the Autumn theme I had already cut and embossed the Hardwood Background using Crumb Cake.

My borders were made using a selection of colours of Alcohol Inks and then cut out using the Botanical Blooms Dies. The same set of dies were used to create the leaves.

For the sentiment, I used a new stamp set from, I think Crafters Companion!

The brads and ribbon were from my crafy stash and a friend in the same group sent me a lovely selection of buttons to use in my project.

I know it has been received now so that is why I have chosen to share it with you.

Thanks for popping by today.

Good afternoon to all my followers.
Today I would like to tell you how I started my journey with Stampin' Up!
I joined in March 2015 through Sam Hammond who is known to her team as 'Pootles'
I had seen SU at a few crafts shows in previous years and liked how all the products they provide match perfectly. However you were not able to buy from them at the shows, you had to Sign Up to become a demonstrator.
Having thought about this for a few months and with their 'Sale-a-bration being launched in January 2015 with exceptional offers I decided this was the time for me to join. £130 of product of your choice and pay only £99, how could I resist?
You can join at any time of the year and even if you don't meet the quarterly targets set, you can 'drop' and keep everything you have bought and re-join at a later date.
I haven't looked back since and from first starting with a Bronze Title, my own personal sales took me to Bronze Elite in January 2016. This means I am getting a better discount on all the products I buy. One day I hope to promote to SILVER but at the moment it seems a long way off.
Everyone is very friendly within Sam's Team, we share thoughts, ideas, makes etc and once a week Sam does a live video on the Facebook Group.
This week she challenged us all to think about why we joined Stampin Up and record it on our own Facebook Page, Blog etc.
I now have two 'Downlines' but sadly no customers so I am my 'Best Customer' and I love checking through the Catalogue and adding items to my ever growing wish list.
The excitement when you receive the email saying that your order has been 'Shipped' is like Christmas morning. Even more so when UPS deliver your parcel.
I have had lots of other products during my 16 years of crafting but Stampin' Up! products are 'Simply the Best'
Only wish I had found them earlier.
If you would like to know more, become a customer or receive a catalogue, please send me a message using the 'CONTACT ME'  Button at the top of my page.
Thank you for taking time to read this.

Today I am sharing my card which I made for a Swap Card Challenge I belong to on Facebook.

For the month of July our host asked us to make a 'POP UP PANEL CARD' in our choice of colour etc. We were given a link to a YouTube tutorial by Kevin Devine.

A lengthy tutorial which I tried to follow but a few attempts later and not 'getting it' one of the members of the group posted her YouTube tutorial.

I watched this many times and finally decided to try again.

This time it was a result although not as perfect as I would have liked.

I chose So Saffrom A4 Card for my base, this was the easy bit, the hard part was yet to come!

You have to make a seperate piece for the main workings of the card, this proved to be that hardest thing to make!

I used lovely  DSP papers for both the outside cover and the inner covers in colours of So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Pool Party.
These are still current colours in the Subtles Range.

I added a few Dies Cut's from my stash and the small butterflies are the Papillion Potpourri Stamps and matching punch. These two items are still current.

I know my swap partner has received it and her comments made me feel very pleased.

A tough challenge set by our Group host and I don't think it will be a design I will be trying again in the near future.

I hope you like my card and thanks for popping by today.

Hello everyone and welcome to another Colour Challenge hosted by
POOTLES  as she is known by her Stampin' Up! Team.

Pootles is really Sam Hammond and each week on a Saturday she sets her team a Colour Challenge.

This week Sam's chosen colours to work with are:

You don't have to use all the colours to take part, Sam leaves it up to us.

This is my take on her challenge.

I set out the Ink Pads on my desk and reached for Card Stock to match.

For the main card I chose Smokey Slate to which I added a layer a Pink Pirouette I had embossed using the beautiful 'Petal Burst' Embossing Folder.
To stamp my image I went for 'Whisper White' card stock and a stamp set called 'Falling Flowers'
My scroll was stamped in Mint Macaron, it is such a love gentle colour and a favourite of mine.
I added flowers from the same set and using Pink Pirouette and Sweet Sugarplum they were dotted around the scroll.
For the sentiment I reached for Birthday Blooms and Smokey Grey Ink and finished it off with a small butterfly from Butterfly Basics, again stamping in Smokey Slate.

I rather like my card and hope you do too, do leave me comments to let me know what you think. I love to read them, good or bad.
